Good afternoon,
I hope everyone is enjoying their placements,
I thought id make this post into quick break down of what a day is like at my placement at a horse show.
I usually start pretty early and feed, and fill all the horses water buckets.
Next we see who is showing that day and which horses need to go and get some exercise before the riders arrive. We do this to ensure that the horses aren't too wild for the younger kids and to get them warmed up and ready to go for the day. Once the riders arrive we get the horses ready and help the younger kids get ready as well. It takes a lot to keep it all organized and it is quite hectic on show days. The manager I am working for does a great job at keeping everything going according to the schedule and she does a great job keeping organized. I am hoping to learn how she manages her time so well and how she stays so organized. I think time management is I critical skill, especially going into a career like personal training where you will have to keep clients and appointments organized. This is picture that was taken last Friday at the horse show of us all getting one of the riders and her ponies ready as she was about to go into the ring.

Hi Josie! It is great to see that you are enjoying your placement! I am glad to see that you found something you already had a connection with. Are you finding it difficult to set yourself goals with this specific placement? How often are you working with the horse's once show season is over? Why did you choose to work with the horses fitness instead of the riders? As a very involved horse person myself I am really looking forward to seeing how this is going to work for you in the future!
ReplyDeleteTo answer your question in one of your previous blogs, I believe a personal trainer should be fit enough to do the exercises they ask their clients to perform, I believe a client would think that if the trainer is not fit then they have no need to be which would lead to the client believeing they do not need a personal trainer.
