Good afternoon everyone, I hope everyone has had success in finding placements and I hope everyone is learning lots and enjoying their placements! I didn't really work much at my placement last week, with so much school and homework and my other jobs on top of it all I found myself getting very run down. I find I have filled my schedule up so much that I hardly have any spare time for myself. On top of all that I went through some pretty serious personal things in the past week. I have always found it really hard to balance all the aspects of life, I am constantly  over working myself and this is something I have really been trying to work on for myself. I think mental health is a super important thing and I think a lot of the time if forget to put myself first, and I forget how important it is to take a break or make sure I get a full night of sleep. This past weekend I decided I needed to take some much needed me time and put myself first and I went to visit some friends up nor...

Good afternoon, I hope everyone is enjoying their placements, I thought id make this post into quick break down of what a day is like at my placement at a horse show. I usually start pretty early and feed, and fill all the horses water buckets. Next we see who is showing that day and which horses need to go and get some exercise before the riders arrive. The manager I am working for does a great job at keeping everything going according to the schedule and she does a great job keeping organized. I am hoping to learn how she manages her time so well and how she stays so organized. I think time management is I critical skill, especially going into a career like personal training where...
Hey Guys, I have officially started my placement and it has been a lot of fun! I am learning lots and I have been kept very busy. I had to come up with placement goals and I found this very difficult since my placement is a little bit different and I couldn't use the standard goals that I'm sure a lot of people are using. One of the goals I set for myself is to increase my own physical strength. A lot of the work I have been doing at placement has been quite physical. I do ALOT of walking. I easily get over 20,000 and sometimes 30,000 steps on my fitbit at the end of the day. Along with that there is a bit of heavy lifting involved. I would like to get in better shape and work on my fitness for placement and for my future career in the fitness industry. I feel as though it is important to be in good shape if you are going to try and help other people get into shape in the future. Does everyone agree with this, do you think personal trainers need to be physically fit in order ...
